Tom Lewis of ASSA ABLOY will present a comprehensive educational program focused on electrified door hardware, and how to best specify it to meet needs associated with security and convenience.

Participants will learn how simple access control systems can be used in planning and
specifying electrified hardware and how
they affect building fire codes, accessibility
standards, and life safety; and how to specify the four vital components and the four
operational elements required in every
electrified hardware opening to achieve the
desired function and level of security.

NEED HELP PREPARING FOR THE CDT EXAM?

The Construction Documents Technology (CDT) Training Workshop  provides a comprehensive overview of material contained in the CDT exam.  Anyone who writes, interprets, enforces, or manages construction documents will benefit from this workshop, led by chapter member Paul Simonsen FCSI, RA, CCS, CCCA, LEED AP.

Single day and Three day options available.  The Day One option is an ideal review for CCCA, CCS & CCPR Exams, and qualifies for 8 - AIA HSW CELU

Paul Simonsen is the President of Technical Resources Consultants, Inc of Peoria, AZ. ACOUSTICAL CEILING SYSTEMS – FIRE RESISTIVE AND SEISMIC DESIGN

Gary Yancy of USG Architectural Systems will present the seminar in three sections, including an overview of ceiling selection criteria, fire resistive ceiling systems, and seismic requirements for ceiling design.  The seminar qualifies for three hours of Continuing Education Units in health, safety and welfare accredited by the AIA and the IDCEC for architects and interior designers.

Education and Certification are among the primary missions of the Construction Specifications Institute.  Certification can be an important step in your career ladder!

Spring Exams:  March 29 - April 3, 2010. 

Early Registration deadline:  Jan. 29, 2010
Final Registration deadline:  Feb. 26, 2010

SPECIAL OFFER

In fact, the chapter leadership believes certification to be so important, that the board voted unanimously to offer a 50% reimbursement this year toward the cost of the exam registration in exchange for writing an article for our newsletter, website, or blog explaining why taking the certification exams is beneficial.

The reimbursement is available regardless of whether or not you pass.  The reimbursement is only applicable on the exam and excludes the optional training workshop and PRM, and the offer is valid only for those registering for an exam before June 30th, 2010.

And, it gets better. CSI is offering a promotion through CSI chapters to CDT exam candidates.  Through this package, candidates will receive a 20% discount on:
  - Professional, Industry or Associate Membership
  - the Spring 2010 CDT early registration rate
  - the Project Resource Manual (PRM)
